Last year, the expansion of the Daniels Faculty of Architecture opened. The modern building complements the historic one, the whole surrounded with great new landscaping. The building is uniquely located in Spadina Crescent, with a circular blueprint.
The design team include NADAAA, Adamson Associates Architects, ERA Architects and PUBLIC WORK.
The East facade is the more interesting one, with a large entrance and some great landscaping. You can really see the juxtaposition of the historic building and the modern addition.
The view from the north is stunning. There’s a also an outdoor atrium that was created with the landscaping. A nice touch!
On the West side, the main feature is the striking entrance:
I also focused on the landscaping that surrounds the building.
I didn’t document inside, but here are two images of the main space, shot during Doors Open Toronto.
Finally, here two aerial view I photographed in late 2017. It gives a good idea of the site and its location.
